WHAT IF ????

AN EVENING FOR WOMEN MARINERS

In association with the Outboard Boating Club of Auckland, Howick Coastguard, and the School of Launchmanship, NZ Maritime Women’s Association invites wives, ladies and young adults over 15, to find out how to handle:

What if something happens at Sea?

bulletWhat if someone falls over the side?

bulletWhat if I have to make a radio call? Who’s listening anyway? Mayday or playday!

Why do people make trip reports? Who cares?

bulletWhat if the boat catches fire? –there is plenty of water about but is this the best you can do ?

bulletWhat are the basic rules of the road at sea – “why do those yachties have right of way?"

bulletWhy are those lights flashing and what do they mean?
What do I do if the anchor drags and “him outdoors” is having a rum somewhere else?

bulletHow am I supposed to tie the boat up? – there are about 100 ways to tie a bowline !!!!

bulletWill the radar really do “that” to my husband?

Two evenings will be held:

Monday 27th November and Friday 1st December at the Outboard Boating Club, Tamaki Drive – 6:30 till 9:00.

Space is limited so book now: – feel safer on the water this summer!
